Name: Tomcat
Location: Fortitude Valley
Vibe: Fun & Lively. Intimate & Luxe. What? There are actually two bars in Tomcat so you can choose your mood. The second bar is The Boiler Room.
Punters: 20 somethings with a scattering of corporates.
Size: Roomy. Plenty of tables and seating. There a couple of pool tables and a small outdoor area (but you’ll need to battle the smokers).
Decor: Semi industrial, large group booths, wooden shared tables, graffiti and cheeky artwork. Think edgy neighbourhood bar. The Boiler Room has dark walls, picture windows, velvet banquettes, small alcoves and copper accents. 1920’s speakeasy.
Music: DJ mixing discs from the 90’s onwards. It can be a little loud but hey! you’re here for some fun. The Boiler Room has chilled music in the background to allow conversation.
Specialises In: Beer & Wine + two cocktails on tap in Tomcat. The Boiler Room is for grown ups with cocktails, brandies and cognacs, quality wines and bottle service.
Do Try: Made to order pizzas in Tomcat. By the slice or whole, there is nothing better than a thin and crispy pepperoni to share with friends.
Insider Tip: You may find it a little difficult to locate The Boiler Room’s secret entrance. It’s Suntory Time!
Verdict: With Chris Denman & Stevie Waite (from Fourth Wall and Kerbside) at the helm, you know this bar is in safe hands. The Boiler Room is sublime.

i fear my bar-hopping days are well and truly over. then again, I never was much of a bar-hopper:) Will have to leave it to the 20 year olds I reckon.
I would most certainly visit The Boiler Room.
